Three open days to attract the best ITC students of the Mediterranean basin on the SophiaTech Campus
Facing an increasing difficulty to attract young people to study sciences and to do PhD, the campus SophiaTech takes action in favor of the visibility of its training and research activities, the attractivity and the international outreach of the Sophia Antipolis technopark to attract new talented students in its courses and laboratories.
About 40 students from across the Mediterranean basin, at the level of bachelor or first year of master, are selected on the basis of their excellent results, in collaboration with the partner universities and schools. They are welcomed during three days to discover the exciting range of education, research and innovation opportunities available at the Sophia Antipolis technology park. The event focuses on information sharing and making direct contacts: researchers from the various institutes based on the campus come to meet the students to present their research subjects. Presentations of the master 2 tracks are introduced. Former students are invited to share their pathways and experiences. Students are also given a talk on the possibilities to join companies or to create spin offs.
These students will become “ambassadors” back in their countries to promote the Campus.
This event is coordinated and financed by the Labex UCN@Sophia and its partners Université Côte d'Azur, Inria, I3S (CNRS-UNS) and LEAT (CNRS-UNS), and Ecole Doctorale STIC.
MEDDAYS 2016 : THE 4TH EDITION ACHIEVED NEW RECORDS
With 38 students hosted (coming from Italy, Greece, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey and Spain) including 16 women, 2016 edition was a success. We hope that like the three previous editions, a big number of students will stay on site to attend the international masters, or do a PhD or work in companies in the technology park of Sophia Antipolis.
